About Emoji Flashcards
Emoji Flashcards makes learning languages fun and accessible for all, providing free high-quality flashcards and worksheets that can be used in the classroom and at home. The variety of resources can help whether you're teaching kids their first language, supporting second language learners, or starting out learning a new language by yourself.
The site began in 2016, providing picture flashcards as well as English flashcards for teaching English as a second language (ESL). Vocabulary has been added in various languages over time, and now teaching resources can be found in seven languages as well as the original picture flashcards.
Teaching resources such as word lists, worksheets and online quizzes have also been added to provide extra teaching materials to support vocabulary learning. In addition, useful printables for teachers and parents have been added such as printable emoji, bingo cards and tracing worksheets. Over 1,000,000 flashcard sets, worksheets and printables have been created on Emoji Flashcards.
Emoji Flashcards is developed by Robin Dickson, a software developer, CELTA certified English teacher, and language learner. Using experience from teaching English as a second language in Japan for many years, Emoji Flashcards was built to provide teaching materials and printables that can be used in the classroom or at home by everyone.
The language vocabulary has been added with the help of contributors and also by a professional translator.
